What Is Happening in Summerlin, Henderson and Las Vegas This September

Eight Ways to Enjoy the Break in the Heat

Tom and Serena have learned how September works in the Las Vegas Valley. The entertainment calendar typically stays light through the first couple of weeks. Then the heat breaks around the middle of September, the valley wakes up all at once, and a run of outdoor events follows through the end of the month. Some of it is standing tradition in their house, including the Greek Food Festival, the Wine Walk, and evenings at Las Vegas Ballpark. Here are eight worth putting on the calendar, all off the Strip and all easy to reach from Summerlin, Henderson, or North Las Vegas.

One more thing worth knowing before October arrives. Timed entry returns to the Red Rock Canyon scenic drive on October 1, so September is the last month you can drive, hike, or ride the loop without booking a reservation ahead of time. Through the end of the month the drive is open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
